Joe Baione is redefining the vibraphone’s place in jazz. Inspired by legends like Lionel Hampton and Milt Jackson, Joe brings boundless energy, passion, and a vibrant voice to the tradition. Mentored by jazz icon Benny Golson, Joe has honed his artistry while honoring the roots of the genre. After balancing a 27-year career as an instrumental music educator with local gigs, Joe returned full-time to the jazz scene, earning acclaim for his talent and innovation. His latest album, Vibe Check, features six originals and three compositions by his late father, performed alongside an all-star ensemble including Duane Eubanks, Toru Dodo, Jerome Jennings, and Marco Panascia. From headlining international festivals to captivating audiences at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola and The Kimmel Center, Joe’s performances showcase his virtuosity and connection to jazz’s roots. A passionate community advocate, Joe continues to inspire, ensuring the vibraphone’s legacy shines brightly.
