About the Album

"West Virginia Rose" and "Home Fries" form a two-track medley on the Fred Hersch Trio's new record, "Floating" (July 8, 2014 on Palmetto Records). Unlike the Trio's previous release, their critically acclaimed double-album, "Alive at the Vanguard" (Palmetto 2012), "Floating" captures the group in studio, playing with nonpareil rhythmic resourcefulness, ravishing lyricism, and telepathic interplay. It is the band's first studio album in four years. Fred Hersch: piano;

John Hébert: bass;

Eric McPherson: drums.
