About the Album

“The Bayou Baby is a song I wrote after a trip to the French Quarter in New Orleans back in the late 90’s. The atmosphere around Jackson Square inspired the lyrics. This song is melancholy and conjures up images of a troubled life. It’s an ode to all those who’ve ever felt like they were fish out of water. I got the bass line first, just messing around with the Korg M1 synthesizer that my nephew had given me. They don’t make them anymore, but I still have it! The Bayou Baby was the first song I wrote on the M1.”~ Kathy Yolanda Rice Kathy’s debut jazz CD, entitled, “After All These Years” was produced by Grammy nominated Producer, Kelvin Wooten, and consists of 10 timeless contemporary tunes. Her music can be heard on jazz radio throughout the world. Kathy tells real-life stories of love, faith and hope in her musical compositions.
