About the Album
"Mercury Heart," the opening track to Nils Petter Molvaer's latest release, Baboon Moon, released in Europe earlier this year on his own Sula imprint, and in North America on November 1, 2011 by Thirsty Ear.
Baboon Moon is the Norwegian trumpeter's first record to feature his now-regular touring trio, featuring Stian Westerhus' groundbreaking and unorthodox approach to guitar, and drummer Erland Dahlen, whose kit is expanded with everything from log and steel drums to bowed saw.
"Mercury Heart" represents a hard-edged approach, without losing Molvaer's intrinsic lyricism. Hardcore!
