About the Album
"Mami's Kitchen" is the first track on vocalist-composer Melissa Stott's CD Why Now> (Feetfirst Records, 2005), which features trumpet legend Steve Gut as a special guest. The band showcases the talents of some of the finest jazz musicians in Italy: pianist Nico Menci, Davide Brillante on guitar, Pietro Ciancaglini on bass and drummer Alessandro Minetto. All the tunes on the CD are originals penned by Stott. The CD was recorded at Artesuono Studios in Udine, Italy, December 2004.
