About the Album

The brilliant pianist, composer and improviser Satoko Fujii has had many working bands over the years. One of her most beloved was her powerhouse avant jazz-rock fusion quartet that ran from 2001-2008. The group reconvened in 2023 and is now back for a playful and daring album featuring seven ferociously energetic originals. Fujii is joined by trumpeter Natsuki Tamara, drummer Tatsuya Yoshida and bassist Takeharu Hayakawa for a journey into new sonic dimensions.

Even by Fujii’s incessantly eclectic standards the title track brings in a kaleidoscopic whirl featuring an incredible array of sounds, textures and influences that range from impressionistic chamber music to death metal.
