Woven together with field recordings from Whitney’s

daily life and featuring both in-the-pocket groove and

sweeping cinematic arrangements by award-winning

multi-instrumentalists Michael Shand and Drew

Jurecka, Curtains of Light offers striking sonic variety

from beginning to end.

From the buoyant energy of Bourgeois Reverie and

the unapologetic groove of Bird of Paradise, to the

soulful yearning of If I Were You and the winter winds

and Northern Lights evoked by Jurecka’s strings in

Curtains of Light, every track invites us to reconsider

the meaning of connection, community, love, and

home – and what happens to us when they are

suddenly out of reach.
