Beauty in Chaos feat. Lynn Adib

About the Album

"Beauty in Chaos" deals with the theme of mourning at a distance – powerful and painful feelings of grief merged with nostalgia and letting go. As an Austrian child to Bulgarian immigrants, Alexandra Ivanova was born into an uprooted life, meandering, making home in many places, conversations, and hearts of people near and far. Her compositions strive to create a sense of imaginary belonging, uniting faded memories and painting traces of a soul, searching for the missing link to Eastern-ness in the context of a Western upbringing. Together with Niklas Lukassen (b) and Nathan Ott (dr) the trio navigates through jazz, Oriental classical and Afro-Cuban inspirations and invites the listener to look at the world from different points of view: from the East, the West, or from somewhere in between. For their debut single they collaborated with French-Syrian vocalist Lynn Adib. The full album will be released on August 25th in the series "Jazz thing Next Generation" on Double Moon / Challenge Records. www.alexandraivanova.com
