About the Album

'Achieved Very Little but Felt Peaceful' is a line from the lockdown diary of Astrakan's vocalist Celia. This is an ambient track in which her spoken voice is supported by some subtle electronic percussion and synth work and is also used as part of the percussion. A saxophone provides a gentle commentary to the words. This track is a departure for Astrakan, the usual whirlwind of (often wild) electronic and acoustic content (seen in 'Crab Weather') has been jettisoned in favour of a much more subtle background. Listen to the kick and snare drums which seem to follow and not dictate to the lyrical content. There is a lot of space in the track but this lends to the peaceful mood.
