Improved Navigation and Two Tips: Improved Navigation and Two Tips
The All About Jazz redesign project is well underway. Modernizing our appearance, improving navigation and enhancing your experience is only part of the plan. This time around we're using analytics to inform our design decisions for an optimal look & feel. We'll also improve how AAJ appears on smaller devices, improve page speed and address reader retention. We previously mentioned our vastly improved SEARCH feature—we also overhauled and expanded our EXPLORE feature. Both were necessary leading up to the relaunch and we took a big step forward with EXPLORE in particular.

If you receive a Cloudflare error (520) when visiting All About Jazz, you should clear your browser's cache, cookies and history to regain access. To clear Chrome's cache, click "Clear Browsing Data," click the "Advanced" tab and select "All Time," before clicking the "Clear data" button. Learn how to clear cache and cookies in Firefox here and Safari here. With Firefox, you sometimes have to clear cache twice or as many times as it takes until you see "Your stored cookies, site data, and cache are currently using 0 bytes of disk space." Private browsing (i.e. incognito mode) also works. Fixing this issue has been a frustrating challenge but we are working on it. Thanks for your patience.

Musician Page Tip: Your Photo

All About Jazz currently hosts over 136,000 musician profile pages including internationally known stars to regional and local players—living as well as deceased. Like a Wikipedia bio page, an All About Jazz musician page is created or claimed and can be maintained by more than one person. Creating a musician page is free and provides several benefits—read about them here. Today's tip touches on your musician page thumbnail photo which represents you at both AAJ and Jazz Near You. A recent, color, sharp and properly framed photo works best. The three examples below illustrate how you'd look without a photo, a mis-crop and a good crop.
