Album Description

SORRY! This is not an ordinary big band jazz that you've expected and listened to. Twelve first-class Korean jazz musicians have come together under the name of Jungsu Choi Tiny Orkester. In January 2018, their European debut album Tschüss Jazz Era was released on Challenge Records which is one of the most prestigious European jazz labels, with a stage debut at BIMHUIS Amsterdam and at the Tillburg Theatre on 28 December 2017. Jungsu Choi has put together a formidable contemporary big jazz ensemble with Korea’s best jazz musicians who tear through the charts. The compact big band, JTO shows well how modern, orchestral jazz can interpret old jazz standards in a unique fashion. "Wow! This is top-class, modern big band jazz, with solidly and very well made, unique arrangements – energetic, orchestral, demanding, skilfully written… Jungsu Choi’s music introduces us to his fascinating feel and his talent.” -Michael Gibbs
