Album Description

With the „Sephardic Dialogues", the ensemble THE SEPHARDICS presents the culmination of a unique three-year project.
Between 2023 and 2025, the group collaborated with international guest artists to create three distinct concert programs – three musical dialogues about heritage, transformation and contemporary sound.
Based on centuries-old Sephardic songs, some dating back to the 16th century, THE SEPHARDICS explore new ways of bringing this tradition into the present. Their signature blend of jazz, rock and improvisation opens up vibrant musical spaces where past and future resonate.
In 2023, THE SEPHARDICS joined forces with the Marseille-based band BIENSÜRE, merging Sephardic grooves with anatolic psychedelic disco-feel and electro-funk textures.
In 2024, they collaborated with OREN AMBARCHI (Australia/Germany), a renowned minimalist and sound explorer, and RAMESH SHOTHAM (India/Germany), one of the most versatile South Indian percussionists.
In 2025, the ensemble meets ELLIOTT SHARP, the legendary New York composer, guitarist and experimentalist, creating an adventurous fusion of Sephardic melodies and avantgarde sound worlds.
The "Sephardic Dialogues“ presents THE SEPHARDICS as an ensemble that honours tradition by reinventing it. Each collaboration reveals new perspectives on Sephardic music – sometimes energetic, sometimes intimate, always deeply resonant.
