Album Description

The title Polar Surfer represents the search for direction while navigating the opposing forces life presents. A «Polar Surfer» is someone who moves forward even when the surrounding conditions are not aligned with one’s intentions — a metaphor for the resilience required to continue on a chosen path despite misalignment.

The album reflects Olaciregui’s broad musical identity and international journey. Born in Mendoza, Argentina, his path has taken him through Ecuador, Boston, New York, Spain, and ultimately Berlin. The compositions on this new album carry this personal musical DNA, blending elements of rock and fusion within a modern jazz framework to create a distinctive and individual sound.
