Calendário do Som: Abril is the fourth volume in the first complete recording of the 366 pieces Hermeto Pascoal wrote, one for every day of the year. Across 30 solo-piano pieces, Brazilian pianist Uaná Barreto creates new arrangements from Hermeto’s melody-and-chord manuscripts, shaping rhythm, tempo, texture and pianistic language while retaining the music’s melodic and harmonic paths. Following Janeiro, Fevereiro and Março, already available on streaming platforms, Abril continues a month-by-month exploration of Pascoal’s Música Universal Brasileira.
