I bought this Zildjian flat ride back in the late 70's & never really liked it. It felt ridged, too thick & just sounded ok. In 2018 I found out that Steve Maxwell's in Chicago had a lathe & could make the cymbal somewhat thinner, give it a little bow & hand hammer it. I wish I had taken a photo before the process but this is how the cymbal came out. I could not be happier with the sound & feel of it. Best suited for lower volume situations, not a lot of wash, the stick definition on this cymbal is wonderful.
