Zigaboo Modeliste


The Drummers Cometh, founded by Joseph “Zigaboo" Modeliste, is a collective of New Orleans drummers. For the inaugural show in 2005, Zigaboo invited Stanton Moore and Russell Batiste to join the Drummers Cometh.





The three drummers, who span a time period of over 50 years commencing from 1960 to present day, have aligned together to unite New Orleans drummers through the Drummers Cometh. The goal of the Drummers Cometh is to launch awareness and unite drummers around the world starting first with the extremely talented drummers of New Orleans.





This year, the trio of drummers will be joined by special guests George Porter Jr., Kurt Brunus and Shane Theriot. The show will be a tribute to the late Earl Palmer and will institute the Drummers Cometh as an annual event.
