Wide Hive Records Embroiled In Trademark Infringement Suit With Sunset Scavenger Garbage Collections Company

San Francisco, CA: In an unfortunate and costly state of affairs, Wide Hive Records, a San Francisco based independent record label, was forced to settle out of court on a trademark infringement law suit filed against them by Sunset Scavenger, a garbage collections company in California.

In June 2004, Wide Hive records released a sophomore release by Bay Area turntablist extraordinaire, DJ Zeph. The highly anticipated album entitled Sunset Scavenger included a likeness of two garbage trucks as the album cover art. Immediately upon the albums release, the record company was threatened with legal action for the alleged infringement of the garbage company
