Two-Time Grammy Award Winner Dianne Reeves Records New CD Of Intimate Jazz Material For Blue Note

Dianne Reeves is on a roll. The last 2 years have found the pre-eminent jazz vocalist winning back-to-back Grammy Awards (in 2001 for In the Moment - Live in Concert and again in 2002 for The Calling: Celebrating Sarah Vaughan), performing at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, making a guest appearance on HBO's hit series Sex & the City, newly appointed as the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association's very first Creative Chair for Jazz, and touring the globe relentlessly with her new trio (pianist Peter Martin, bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Gregory Hutchinson) including her first-ever engagement at the world-famous Village Vanguard jazz club in New York City.

Reeves finally found the time in early December to head back into the studio and record a new project for Blue Note Records. Under the guidance of legendary producer Arif Mardin (Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, Norah Jones), Reeves and her band (featuring guest appearances by trumpeter Nicholas Payton and guitarist Romero Lubambo) laid down 11 tracks ranging from jazz standards ("Skylark," “Darn that Dream," “You Go to My Head") to more contemporary material (Stevie Wonder's “Make Sure You're Sure" from the Jungle Fever soundtrack). The CD will be titled A Little Moonlight and is due to be released on August 5, 2003.
