Over the past 21 years, Tuxedomoon have played only four times in the US, and are today usually more visible along the coast of the Mediterranean or the Baltic.
The band--founder members Steven Brown (saxes, keyboards, vocals), Blaine L Reininger (violin, guitar, vocals) and Peter Principle (bass), plus 1983 recruit Luc Van Lieshout (trumpet, harmonica)--celebrated their 30th Anniversary earlier in 2008 with new album Vapour Trails and the 3-disc box set 77o7: 30th Anniversary Box, both on the Belgian-based Crammed label.
Tuxedomoon have variously been called the missing link between Weather Report and Can, Bad Seeds and Calexico, and Joy Division and Radiohead.
For the Poisson Rouge gig, the band are joined by visual artist Bruce Geduldig.
Poisson Rouge is a multimedia art cabaret" on the former site of the historic Village Gate, at 158 Bleecker Street, NY 10012.
