The pianist of choice for some of jazz's greatest musicians, 9-time Grammy nominee Kenny Barron is universally recognized as a master of performance and composition. His unparalleled ability to captivate audiences with elegant playing, sensitive melodies and infectious rhythms has led the Los Angeles Times to declare Barron “one of the top jazz pianists in the world." He consistently wins the jazz critics and reader's polls, including Downbeat, JazzTime, and Jazziz magazines. For the past four years he has been named Best Pianist by the Jazz Journalists Association, and in 2001 was a finalist for the prestigious Jazz Par International Jazz Award.

Canadian-born Renee Rosnes moved to New York in 1986 and immediately began to make a name for herself supporting such legends as Wayne Shorter, Joe Henderson, and J.J. Johnson. In the late '80s, Rosnes joined “Out of the Blue," the hard bop Blue Note group of young up-and-comers. This was followed by a string of highly acclaimed recordings beginning with Renee Rosnes (1989), For the Moment (1990), Without Words (1992), Ancestors (1995), and As We Are Now (1997). Her auspicious debut featured two striking duets with Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter as well as several tunes with Branford Marsalis. “She has a sophisticated way with harmonies that underscores her keen melodic sense" (Time Out New York).
