Theodore Croker, 17, has been selected to be the 2002-03 Jazz Artist in Residence at the Ritz Theatre in Jacksonville, Florida. He was featured with his jazz trio for the opening jazz jam in November to highlight the Great American Jazz Celebration. In December he will debut his “Jazzy Noel": An original program of jazz arrangements. His trio, Combo and Big Band will perform accompanied by the Ritz Choir. Theo will also debut an original composition 'An African American Suite" in Febrary of 2003.
Theo is a senior at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the son of Alicia Cheatham Croker, Doc Cheatham's daughter.
