Label group's artists reach top two spots on both jazz charts with George Benson's Absolute Benson leading the way with a first-place debut.

The Verve Music Group now holds both the #1 and #2 spots on Billboard's Traditional and Contemporary Jazz Charts. This is the first time since the implementation of the SoundScan tracking system that a label group has achieved these rankings. This rare feat was accomplished for the week ending May, 28, 2000.

The Contemporary Jazz Chart is topped by George Benson's Absolute Benson (GRP), which makes its debut at #1, followed Al Jarreau's Tomorrow Today (GRP) at #2.

The Traditional Jazz Chart is topped by Diana Krall's When I Look In Your Eyes (Verve) in the #1 spot and David Benoit's Here's To You, Charlie Brown: 50 Great Years! (GRP) in the #2 position.
