Monday nights at the Iridium are usually reserved for guitar legend Les Paul, but while Les is recuperating The Iridium Jazz Club is pleased to present The Frank & Joe Show Monday, February 13th sets at 8:00 and 10:00 PM.

The Frank & Joe Show is a partnership between Django Reinhardt influenced guitarist and phenomenal percussionist Joe Ascione.

Together they explore a wide range of musical styles, including standards, classical works, Latin numbers, and original compositions. There's gypsy swing crossed with breezy island grooves; the American high lonesome sound infused with modern jazz; classic pop standards filtered through acoustic roots improvisation--all the while propelled by delectable rhythms that would bring pause to 1970s' Latin rock bands like Santana and War. The Frank & Joe Show have released two CDs on the Hyena Records label, 66 2/3 and 33 1/3 to critical acclaim. “It's a blend of Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, The Andrew Sisters and Charlie Christian. It's a wide open ball game. There is a world wide appeal to 33 1/3." - Dick Crockett/The Voice (Sacramento, CA) “This recording knocks you out from the first track." - Karl Stark/ Philadelphia Inquirer “Once you hear 33 1/3, you'll have a grasp of the frolic generated by the guitarist and percussionist's very nifty swing ensemble. Hyper spins through 'Spiderman' and 'Flight of the Bumblebee' are all about chops. 'Paper Moon' spilling into 'Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf' is all about cheer." - Jim Macnie/Village Voice “...so palapable and endearing that Frank & Joe seem like lifelong friends to anyone who cares about warm-hearted songs." - Bill Bentley/Studio City Sun
