Within five years, the boutique independent jazz label MAXJAZZ has established an impressive Vocal Series (including GRAMMY-nominated Carla Cook; the legendary Mary Stallings; daring newcomer Rene Marie; and audience favorite LaVerne Butler) and a sublime Piano Series (jazz great, Mulgrew Miller; the brilliant Jessica Williams; funky Peter Martin; and sophisticated Bruce Barth). Now the label ventures into horn territory with this Soulful Song (May 13, 2003), the debut from sax master Steve Wilson. That same day, Wilson will debut the music at New York's Jazz Standard.
