SFJazz Announces SFJazz Spring Season 2002

The SFJAZZ Spring Season, hailed by The New York Times as “an instant hit," returns for its third annual celebration of classic jazz traditions and cutting-edge innovations, March through June 2002 under the artistic direction of world-renowned saxophonist Joshua Redman. SFJAZZ Spring Season 2002 will showcase six series of concerts, films, panel discussions, and family matinees exploring six eclectic musical themes and featuring performances by world-renowned jazz artists such as Sonny Rollins, Cassandra Wilson, Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Joe Lovano, Bill Frisell, Marilyn Crispell, EST, and Buena Vista Social Club singer Omara Portuondo, among many others.
