The spellbinding artistry of Yehonatan Cohen's latest album Stories unveils not only the technical skills of a rising talent but his compositional wizardry as well. The result is an album that is breathtaking in its free-flowing energy and smooth craftsmanship. Cohen uses his saxophone to weave ideas with emotions, reeling in both the hearts and minds of listeners.

On “Spring," Cohen's breezy saxophone is deepened by Gadi Lehavi’s sad, reflective piano. The track proceeds at a cool, leisurely pace, only storming forth when Cohen’s sax takes flight. On “To Make a Long Story Short,” Itay Morchi’s shuffling, frenetic drumming and Or Bareket’s thumping bass of sharpen the edges further, heightening the electricity, while Cohen’s saxophone provides warm comfort.

Among the record’s highlights is “Waterfall,” wherein Lehavi’s playful piano is brimming with spunk and unbridled enthusiasm. The piano and Cohen's explosive sax catch fire, and soon the whole band is jamming feverishly. There is electricity in the air that could only emanate from skilled musicians grooving with a unified vision.
