Ropeadope Digital is presenting a 3-day review showcasing three bands new to the label. The “Hometown Throwdown Tour" features Otis Grove, Bodega and Japhy Ryder and is making stops in Philadelphia, Boston and Burlington.
Japhy Ryder is a tight-knit quintet of musicians living, working, and performing raw, driving, instrumental rock in Burlington, Vermont. Boston's Otis Grove began as a collective experiment in crossing the traditional jazz sound with funk and hip-hop rhythms. The music has since evolved into a unique blend of soulful organ funk and garage rock. Formed in the spring of 2006, Bodega creates a shared vision with an emphasis on danceable grooves and developed compositions with room for improvisation.
