Son of the legendary jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane has had some rather big shoes to fill! Highly touted and for good reason, Ravi has been a vital member of the New York jazz scene since 1991 when he began his professional career with onetime Coltrane drummer and legend in his own right, Elvin Jones. Since then, the tenor and soprano saxophonist has performed and recorded with other jazz stars such as, Jack DeJohnette, Herbie Hancock and Kenny Barron. Now Ravi Coltrane has stepped out as a leader and debuts his latest RCA release at The Iridium.
