Orrin Evans Quintet to Perform in Philadelphia

Pianist Orrin Evans keeps attracting attention. Recently he was named one of the top entrepreneurs under 30 in his native Philadelphia; he came in 2nd in the 1999 Thelonious Monk Piano Competition; and he continues to impress critics and audiences alike with his layers of intricate sound. His debut on Palmetto Records is appropriately named -- Meant to Shine. This gig will celebrate this CD and feature Orrin's quintet of Ralph Bowen, Seamus Blake, Ugonna Okegwo and Vince Ector. Evans started his career playing with Bobby Watson, Ralph Peterson, Stefon Harris, Antonio Hart and Wallace Roney.
