SCCD 31528 “Gong With The Wind Suite"- A duet featuring Lee Konitz (alto sax) and master percussionist Matt Wilson (drums, gongs, you name it). 24 bit recording. Konitz (who has been recording for SteepleChase extensively since the mid 70's) and Wilson (who has been drumming w/ Konitz for over 10 years) have come up with this unique “suite" which is composed of is made up of 13 vignettes. SCCD 31529 - Jed Levy Quartet - “Round and Round" - featuring: Jed Levy (tenor sax), Bill Gerhardt (pno), Mike McGuirk (bass) and Jeff Brillinger (drums). Levy's music reflects his long relationship with Jaki Byard in this his second offering as a leader for SteepleChase.UPC# 716043152926

SCCD 31530 - Harold Danko Trio - “Fantasy Exit" - This 24 bit recording features Danko (piano) with his long tome rhythm section Michael Fornanek (bass) and Jeff Hirshfield (drums). Two original compositions from Danko including the title track.UPC# 716043153022

SCCD 31531 - “Inside Chicago, Vol. 3" - Featuring Von Freeman This is the third in a series of recordings done by trumpeter Brad Goode in the early 90's in Chicago. Like the previous two (SCCD 31500 and 31501) the band features Goode and his regular band at the time including: Paul McKee (trombone), Ron Perrillo (piano), Stewart Miller (bass), and Bob Rummage (drums) along with Freeman on tenor sax. This time the festivities take place at Chicago's primer jazz club The Green Mill where Goode and his band held court every Wednesday for 12 years. In his review of “Inside Chicago - vol 1 (SCCD 31500) Harvy Pekar states “If anyone ever asks you to explain all the fuss about Von Freeman, play this.
