In its ongoing efforts to help bring jazz education into the 21st Century, PlayJazzNow has just released several new batches of play along tracks. The website offers downloadable backing tracks for jazz musicians of all skill levels, providing beginners as well as seasoned pros opportunities to grow in a fun, creative way.

PlayJazzNow's recent additions include Trane Trax, a set of play alongs that help unlock the secrets of Coltrane's seminal harmonic innovations. Giant Steps, for instance, is presented at three different tempos, giving players the chance to learn those essential chord changes at their own pace.

More advanced improvisors can also sink their chops into Dominant Cycles, progressions of various kinds of dominant harmonies that go through all 12 keys. There are some challenging tunes to work on as well, including Cherokee, Miss Jones and Indiana, each one available in 6 keys.

Starter Tracks Pack puts beginning players on the right path by presenting the simplest kinds of chord progressions in the most common keys - ii/Vs, major turnarounds, blues and “rhythm" changes. These tracks are designed to get musicians acquainted with jazz harmonies without becoming overwhelmed.

PlayJazzNow has demonstrated a strong commitment to jazz education throughout its brief history. The site continues to grow not only with new products but with new ways to help nurture the next generations of jazz musicians.

PlayJazzNow has created video lessons for rhythm section players, printable charts with chord progressions for every track plus suggestions for using the tracks in the most effective ways. All of these supplementary materials are available free of charge.
