Movie on the Life of Buddy Rich Now in Preproduction

Cathy Rich announced recently that a major motion picture on the life of her father Buddy Rich is now in preproduction. “This has . . .been a long time coming," she wrote on her website, “but as with anything you really want, you have to keep pursuing."

The film is being produced by Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney, through their company, Section 8. Cathy Rich will be Executive Producer. Her mother will also have a Producer's title, as will Steve Arnold.

Miguel Ferrer will star.
