Three for the price of one seems like a damned good deal, especially when we’re talking about three of jazz’s finest exponents of the organ, the KeyB organ to be precise. Jeremy Monteiro (Singapore), Alberto Marsico Italy and Tony Monaco (USA) are getting together for this Jazz Organ Summit –at the Esplanade Recital Studio, Singapore, the culmination of a whirlwind Asian tour that will also take them to Bangkok and Hong Kong, courtesy of sponsors EFG Bank.

Monteiro has returned to the organ in recent years, notably on Groovin’ At Groove Junction (Jazznote Records, 2009) with his trio Organamix and the spectacular pan-Asian jazz-fusion group the Asian Jazz All-Stars Power Quartet, who played to an enthusiastic audience at the London Jazz Festival in 2012 as part of its successful Asian/European tour.

Marsico and Monaco are also outstanding virtuosos on the KeyB organ and have been mentored and endorsed by jazz organ legends Jimmy Smith and former Miles Davis sideman Joey DeFrancesco.

Monteiro, Marsico and Monaco will be joined by long-time Monteiro collaborator drummer Shawn Kelley (Ernie Watts/James Moody), Hong Kong guitarist Eugene Pao (Michael Brecker/Jack DeJohnette), saxophonist Shawn Letts and vocalist Charito, whose album Heal The World (Zoho Music, 2011) was one of the most striking tributes to singer Michael Jackson. It’s a line-up not to be missed for fans of grooving jazz and blues-drenched ballads.

The Jazz Organ Summit will perform on 23/24 October in Singapore’s iconic Esplanade. For ticket information visit the Esplanade website.
