Jelly Roll Morton's Manager's Documents to Be Auctioned on Ebay

Jazz legend Jelly Roll Morton, who claims to have invented jazz, allegedly had a manager named Harrison Smith. Smith, also a music publisher, claims to have had ownership of a number of tunes that Jelly Roll composed.



The owner of these historical documents is a lawyer who represented Smith in various copyright infringement actions brought against ASCAP, BMI, The Harry Fox Agency, record companies and music publishers.

These documents will be auctioned off on Ebay, beginning Monday, February 12th.
