Jeff “Tain" Watts came to fame as drummer with the early Wynton Marsalis band. He has been greatly in-demand ever since, playing and recording with such musicians as Geri Allen, Ricky Ford, Robin Eubanks, Betty Carter, McCoy Tyner, Kenny Garrett and Branford Marsalis joining the Tonight Show Band when Branford Marsalis became its director. His last Sony CD Bar Wars garnered strong reviews and New York Times critic, Ben Ratliff recently called Watts one of the most influential drummers in jazz.
