Running from the 24th of November, until the 12th of December, a photo exhibition of a selection of Macedonian jazz artists by photographer Tatjana Rantasha will take place at the Youth Center in Belgrade Serbia. The exhibition consists of 35 black and white photographs of various Macedonian jazz artists from different generations: Vlatko Stefanovski, Džijan Emin, Goce Stevkovski Septet, Martin Gjakonovoski, Gordan Spasovski, Kiril Kuzmanov, Kokan Dimuševski, Sethstat, and others.

Tatjana Rantasha is a renowned photographer with 15 years of experience behind. She began working as an official photographer for Avalon and Lithium Records and soon she began working with MKC, MOT, Cinedays film festival, and finally the Skopje Jazz Festival and OFFest. Part of her photographs are featured in the 30 years of Skopje Jazz Festival monograph (SJF, 2011) and Music and Conversations and More Music and Conversations by journalist and organizer Nenad Georgievski.

“For me, the organizing of this exhibition is a possibility to introduce Macedonian jazz musicians, both the well-known and the unknown to an audience in Belgrade. The Youth Center in Belgrade is an institution where important cultural events have taken place over the years. This institution is also the organizer of the Belgrade Jazz Festival which this year will start when Jazzthetica closes. I’m glad that we shall have an exhibition at the heart of this jazz temple in Belgrade,“ says organizer Nenad Geogievski of Nomad-Art Skopje organization.

This exhibition was first staged in 2018 at the Cinematheque of Macedonia as part of the Skopje Cinema City film festival when several jazz films were screened. For the exhibition in Belgrade, the selection was extended with photographs from this year’s editions of festivals such as Skopje Jazz Festival and Today It’s All About Jazz which took place in October.
