Jazz Trumpeter Chris Botti Unwraps Holiday Album December And Offers Romantic Renditions Of Favorite Holiday Standards

After two years of touring as featured trumpet soloist with Sting and phenomenal success as a solo artist, Chris Botti continues to set new standards in the world of contemporary jazz. With his latest release December, on Columbia Records, Chris Botti blends beautiful harmonies and sounds of the holiday spirit to create music that is joyful, romantic and sexy. Set to be released on October 22nd, December wonderfully captures the true meaning of Christmas and warmth of the season.

December is a 13-song collection that showcases standard seasonal fare like “Little Drummer Boy" and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." Combined with songs that are both seasonal and uplifting, Botti brings an artistic vibe to the album with melodies that are well suited to his trumpet, such as a hushed rendition of Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah." Chris Botti also lends his voice to December, offering romantic renditions of Richard Marx's song “Perfect Day" (with the season-appropriate line, “With you, it's Christmas every day") and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas."

Produced by Bobby Colomby and Richard Marx (except for two vocal songs which are co-produced by Colomby and Marx), December boasts a star-studded cast of Los Angeles jazz musicians including keyboardist Billy Childs, guitarist Anthony Wilson, saxophonist-flutist Bob Sheppard, bassist Jimmy Haslip and drummers Peter Erksine and Vinnie Caolaiuta.
