JAZZ EXPO - Tunes Up Your ABC's of Jazz

Jazz Expo is a celebration of music which brings together children, students, educators, festival directors, media personalities, musicians, record labels, film makers, composers, talent buyers, agents, managers, producers, TV executives, music camps, schools, and industry leaders from Canada, the USA and the UK.

Whether you are an executive secretly playing your guitar in the basement or a parent with a talented child and/or a leading industry professional, Jazz Expo is the ultimate resource for professional development seminars, accessing trade tools, information, networks and great LIVE jazz.

Jazz Expo is committed to supporting emerging jazz talent from Canada and around the world. Showcasing new talent is an important part of this year's convention. There are over 20 scheduled concerts, over 180 hours of showcases, courses, clinics, workshops and panels. In addition, Canada Council for the Arts is currently hosting a nation-wide competition for young Canadians to perform under the “JAZZ ID" banner at the convention. Jazz Expo will announce its “All-Star" line up in September.

An “International Jazz Summit" will be the emphasis of the third day of programming. The Summit will create a series of international meetings for the advancement of Trade and Export in Jazz. The expected line-up of international delegates include:

Jazz Expo also features a wide variety of exhibitors - a market place opened to the public which promises to be an exciting part of this year's event. The JAZZ MARKET will offer workshops, guest speakers, product demonstrations, hours of live music and much more. This is a place to discover new talent, get a music lesson, hunt for bargains and add to your CD collection.
