German music publisher Advance Music has just released Exploration in Rhythm, Volume 1, Rhythmic Phrasing in Improvisation by Ed Saindon. This is the first book of a series (for all instruments) dealing with advanced rhythmic concepts for the improvisor and composer. Another super jam completed! The Super Sessions in Phoenix on October 13 marked the sixth show in a series that started in Italy just over 2 years ago with a 14 hour long non-stop totally improvised show. There have also been shows in Italy of 33 1/3 and 45 hours non-stop featuring names like Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Willie Oteri, Marcus Reuter and others. A 78-hour show is planed for Italy in 2008.
