Jazz legends and rising stars are featured in a new book The Power Of Jazz, by UK-based professional photographer and writer John Watson.

The book has more than 140 color and black and white photographs of artists including Chet Baker, Gil Evans, Sonny Rollins, Hank Jones, Esbjorn Svensson, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Dame Cleo Laine, Jane Monheit, Roberta Gambarini, Sheila Jordan, Branford Marsalis, Joshua Redman and Jan Garbarek.

Melodic notes seductively filled the air as jazz music made its way through the shopping complex on the porch of the Green Beans Coffee shop at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, near Tikrit, Iraq, March 14.

Evening temperatures have warmed up and the 3rd Infantry Division Jazz Combo has returned to its bi-weekly schedule.

The twice-a-month performances provide a break from the daily grind and a boost for Soldiers' morale.
