Pioneer Develops 400-Gbyte Blu-Ray Compatible Disc

apan's Pioneer Corp.has developed an optical disc capable of holding 400 Gbytes, or about sixteen times the capacity of today's Blu-ray discs. The technology is also backwards-compatible with the Blu-ray technology, Pioneer said, as the objective lens optical specifications are the same as used by the lenses in BD drives.
