The 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Awards--organised by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group (APPJAG) and sponsored by PPL, the organisation that licenses the use of recorded music in the UK--were announced in the Terrace Bar of the House of Commons on the evening of Wednesday May 19th. The third Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song will be presented to Sir Paul McCartney at a special concert in the White House on June 2, it was announced by Librarian of Congress James H. Billington on Monday.
