Jazz Arts Group of Columbus Awarded 2010-2011 NAMM Foundation Program Grant

Columbus, OH -- NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, announced that the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) is one of 25 recipients worldwide to receive a NAMM Foundation Program Grant. The NAMM Foundation's 2010-2011 program grants will allocate $585,000 in funding to support innovative community-based music learning programs that allow more people the opportunity to experience the proven benefits of active music-making. The 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Awards--organised by the All Party Parliamentary Jazz Appreciation Group (APPJAG) and sponsored by PPL, the organisation that licenses the use of recorded music in the UK--were announced in the Terrace Bar of the House of Commons on the evening of Wednesday May 19th. McCartney to Receive Gershwin Prize

The third Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song will be presented to Sir Paul McCartney at a special concert in the White House on June 2, it was announced by Librarian of Congress James H. Billington on Monday.
