One of the most interesting aspects of singing is that the instrument is contained within, and ultimately theres nothing to lean on except the vocalists own skills and talents. Elvis Presley recording at RCA Studios in 1956, the year “Heartbreak Hotel" made him a star. Months earlier, Sun Records head Sam Phillips had sold Presley's contract to RCA for $40,000. By the end of 1957, Elvis had scored nine Number One singles.
