Exodus to Jazz 2011-2012 Season Has Something for Everyone....

Recently, Jose DaCosta, the main man behind the great Exodus to Jazz series announced that tickets were on sale for the 2011-2012 Season of ETJ. There are some great artists here coming from a number of diverse directions—some are new to ETJ, some familiar to those of you who have caught an ETJ concert  in the past. I'll just list them here, but you should go over to the Exodus to Jazz website to get more details and click through to some more information about the artists, including video.

  • Saturday, September 24, 2011: The Kenny Garrett Quartet with Johnny O'Neal opening the concert with a solo piano tribute to jazz icon Hank Jones @ Hochstein School of Music, 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, October 22, 2011: Tizer, featuring Karen Briggs @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm
  • Sunday, November 13, 2011: Rene Marie & Experiment In Truth @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation Show, 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, November 19, 2011: Johnny O'Neal Trio with Jeremy Pelt @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, December 3, 2011: Chieli Minucci & Special EFX @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm
  • Sunday, January 22, 2012: Tamir Hendelman and Gerald Clayton return to perform “A Duet for MoKA," a benefit concert for the Museum of Kids Art @ Hochstein School of Music, 8:00 pm 
  • Saturday, February 11, 2012: The Houston Person Quartet @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm 
  • Saturday, March 10, 2012: Four80East @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, April 14, 2012: Johnny O'Neal Trio with Special Guest (TBA) @ Hochstein School of Music, 8:00 pm
  • Saturday, May 5, 2012: Eric Person & Metamorphosis @ Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 8:00 pm

There will be two one-hour sets at each concert. Tickets and the new five-concert ETJ Pass are now available online at BrownPaperTickets.com.
