The Afro-Caribbean Jazz Seminar with Eddie Palmieri and the Eddie Palmieri Orchestra will be leading a “SALSA MEETS JAZZ 2002" seminar, which will take place from Aug. 4-11 at Goddard College in Plainfield, Vt. SALSA MEETS JAZZ 2002 is the only Afro-Caribbean jazz seminar for serious high school and college music students, music educators, and professional musicians in the United States. Areas of instruction will include daily listening sessions with Mr. Palmieri, faculty-led combos and Afro-Cuban big bands, a rumba ensemble, instrumental and vocal master classes, and understanding clave, with faculty concerts and exciting jam sessions through the week, salsa dancing, and Afro-Caribbean cuisine.
