Dave Holland made history this year when he swept the Down Beat Critics' and Readers' polls with four wins in each poll: Jazz Artist, Bass Player, Ensemble (the Dave Holland Quintet) and recording (Not For Nothin'). Holland's last three records were all nominated in the category “Best Jazz Instrumental Recording":
