General Admission is $12; students and seniors, $10; Jazzschool students and children under 13, $6. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended: (510) 845-5373.
Joining this dazzling duo in their rousing jazz romp are keyboardist John Seppala, bassist Dewayne Pate and drummer Alan Hall. Their music is incendiary and intoxicating, with infectious rhythms. They play originals which are so eloquent they could become standards.
Seeling has worked with Machito, Ray Barretto, The Temptations, Joe Cocker, Little Anthony, The Shirelles, the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Big Band, and the Larry Elgart Orchestra, among many others. Fineberg played on David Bowie's classic Young Americans album and went on to record or tour with such diverse talents as Melba Liston, Phoebe Snow, Patti LaBelle, Bo Diddly and Jane Ira Bloom. She performed at New York's Kool Jazz Festival with Dizzy Gillespie and Marian McPartland. Together, this amazing duo has been on over 40 recordings and has toured and/or recorded as the horn section for Luther Vandross, Chic, Laura Nyro, Cornell Dupree, Martha Reeves, and Allen Toussaint.
Remember We Are Family" by Sister Sledge? That's Seeling and Fineberg on horns, along with Alex Foster, Barry Rogers, and Jon Faddis!
The San Francisco Examiner's Philip Elwood applauds Deuce's on-the-edge jazz with...electronic propulsion and...classy arrangements." He calls them a sensuous Spyro Gyra." JazzIz magazine proclaims that their sassy album Windjammer captures much the same vibe and energy level as the Breckers' memorable collaborations...irresistible."
