BIOS: BRIAN ALLEN is a trombonist and composer from Lake Jackson, Texas. Brian began his musical studies with piano lessons for 8 years, beginning at age 7. Frustrated with always having to play with the correct fingerings, he took up the trombone because his brother could make a mean race car imitation. Soon thereafter, Brian received a Bachelors Degree in Trombone Performance from Texas Tech University. Brian has also studied with Roswell Rudd, Dave Liebman and Ellery Eskelin and at theBanff summer jazz workshop. He has performed with Dave Ballou, Mark Dresser, Michael Formanek, Satoko Fujii, Lou Grassi, Drew Gress, Clay Jenkins, Tony Malaby, Tom Rainey, Roswell Rudd, and Chris Seiter.

JACOB KOLLER is a dynamic pianist and composer from Phoenix, Arizona. Jacob began his piano studies at age 4, when given the choice between preschool and piano lessons. His older brother also played piano, so jealosy played a part in it, too. Soon after, Jacob won many a classical piano competition. While attending Arizona State University, he studied with Fred Hersch, Kenny Werner, Uri Caine, Angelica Sanchez, and Chuck Mahronic. He met Brian in Canada several years back in a detention center at the airport and instantly developed a musical bonding with Brian that has taken them, going by the name “Brain Killer," across North America over the last couple of years. On the last Brain Killer tour, Mark Dresser teamed up with Brian and Jacob for a couple of dates. Recently, Jacob was honored by the Julius Hemphill Composition Competition with an Honorable Mention for his compositions for Brain Killer.

COREY FOGEL is a drummer and percussionist of many shapes and sizes, having completed his Bachelors in Jazz Performance and Percussion at Arizona State University. He is active in many forms of jazz, experimental, rock and electronic and klezmer music. He is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree from The California Institute of the Arts. Corey has been shocking audiences with his very original approach to rhythm and his unusual choice of instrumentation, anything from meat grinders to concrete blocks and broken glass, for the past several years.
