BBC Launches New Jazz Awards
BBC Radios 2 and 3 are to stage the very first annual BBC Jazz Awards. The awards will take place on Tuesday July 31st, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.
Hosted by Humphrey Lyttelton and Jools Holland, the event will be a celebration of the enduring vitality of jazz, bringing together musicians, media and major industry players who jointly contribute to the diversity and wealth of the jazz scene.
Performances are still being confirmed but they include never seen before collaborations. One winner announced already is the great Ellington and Basie trumpeter Clark Terry who will be honoured as the BBC
