Alleged RIAA, Sony Hackers Anonymous Arrested

At least 14 alleged members of hacking group Anonymous were arrested by the FBI on Tuesday.  Anonymous had claimed responsibility for disrupting Sony sites for weeks, as well as,hacking the RIAA, MPAA, CIA and other. An offshoot group also attacked Universal Music and others. Their most common tactic was a denial of service attack, in which large amounts of traffic are directed to a website, to overloading it and effectively shut it down.

The arrests took place in New York, near San Francisco and New Jersey, according to CNN and other sources.

The FBI in New York refused to confirm further. “These search warrants are being executed in connection with an ongoing FBI investigation," said FBI spokesman Peter Donald.
